I doubt they can top this

So the new Fright Night opened this weekend. I doubt I'll go see it. The buzz hasn't been great; I feel like the whole vampire thing has been played out; and most importantly, I doubt the new version will live up to the original - particularly this scene. The '80's fashions and music might put you off for a minute or two, but you'll get past it. Then you'll be every bit as caught up in the seduction as our heroine is. This is great stuff.

Chris Sarandon is awesome.

And yet, Colin Farrell also makes a fantastic Jerry Dandridge. It's the rare remake that is as good as, yet different from, the original!

Personally, I like the vamped-out girlfriend towards the end, but YMMV.

Maybe it's because I'm not a vamire person? But the acting just seems too wooden to really convey what I think/imagine/fantasize about is going on in their heads.

I probably shouldn't try and post on a stranger's blog when I'm spaced out on painkillers, should I? :P
